Previously I worked for the NHS for 3 years as a Public Health Nutritionist, both directly with the public and with other health professionals. Public health nutrition focuses on the use of good nutrition to reduce diet related illnesses in the population, such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer. I use my skills and knowledge about nutrition and translate it into easy to understand, practical and stimulating information in a way that engages and motivates. Information is properly sourced, evidence based and in line with NICE guidelines.
I have worked extensively with health professionals, Sure Start practitioners, charities and voluntary organisations and weight management centres to train their staff about how to pass on healthy eating advice and to utilize their skills and knowledge in their roles and lives. I have also worked to develop weight management programmes as well as with the public offering information and advice as well as delivering cooking and nutrition lessons.
I hold a Food and Nutrition BSc degree from Leeds University, and am based in London.
